Here’s a curated list of essential services many students find helpful. Each includes what the service offers, when it’s useful, a student voice and how-to engage.
Psychology and Counselling Services
Swinburne University offers free and confidential counselling for all enrolled students. Counselling can be provided in person, over the phone, or via video. Location: Level 4, George Swinburne Building (GS) John Street, Hawthorn VIC 3122 Operating Hours: Open Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm.
Swinburne Health Service provides counselling and medical services, including GP, nursing and sexual health consultations. There are no out of pocket fees for students, provided you have a Medicare or overseas healthcare card.
Free, confidential support and access plans for students living with a disability, medical or mental health condition, or have primary carer responsibilities. An AccessAbility Adviser will meet with you to identify reasonable adjustments to support you to succeed in your studies and develop an Education Access Plan.
Swinburne University provides a 24/7 student wellbeing support line for urgent after-hours mental health, counseling, and personal support. Students can call 1300 854 144 or text 0488 884 145. For immediate emergency services, call 000. This service is available for help with various personal or academic-related stress.
